Design guidelines specific to each member community have been developed by InSite:Architecture in collaboration with the Downtown Coordinator and a steering committee from each community.
Design guidelines are meant to be used as a guide when rehabilitating historic storefronts in a designated downtown district. Adhereing to these guidelines will contribute to the creation of a vibrant and pedestrian friendly downtown.
Design elements addressed in the guidelines include:
► Appropriate materials to use
► Storefront windows and doors
► Upper floor windows
► Color and detailing
All buildings receiving grant funding must comply with the Design Guidelines for the community. The Downtown Coordinator is available to consult with building owners on design and to assist with compliance with the guidelines.
